The Western New York Coalition for the Homeless is going to new heights to raise funds for its fifth annual Project Homeless Connect event.

The agency hopes to raise $10,000 in donations through a campaign called “Freefall for the Homeless: Skydiving for a Cause.” The campaign ends Wednesday. If the goal is met, five members of the Project Homeless Connect planning committee will jump out of a plane. To donate, visit and search “Freefall for the Homeless.”

Project Homeless Connect, which provides services and information for people who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless, will be held Sept. 5 in the Buffalo Niagara Convention Center. For information, visit
