SILVER CREEK – A 26-year-old Lakewood man was jailed following his arrest Friday morning for towing an unregistered trailer through the village even though his driver’s license has been revoked due to prior alcohol-related traffic offenses, Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office spokesmen reported.

Shawn A. Sobczak, of East Fairmount Avenue, was stopped on Central Avenue about 11:37 a.m.

He was charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle in the second degree after deputies found his license had been revoked. He also was charged with having an unregistered trailer and having no brake lights on the trailer. After his arraignment in Silver Creek Village Court, he was remanded to the county jail in Mayville.
