WEST BABYLON, N.Y. (AP) — Police on Long Island say they have arrested a substitute teacher accused of possessing child pornography on his computer.
Police say 39-year-old Francesco Santodonato, of West Babylon, was arrested at his home Thursday on charges of possession of a sexual performance of a child and promoting sexual performance by a child. He's to be arraigned on Friday. It wasn't clear if he had a lawyer.
Police say Santodonato, whose computer and other media were confiscated, possessed pictures and videos of child pornography
Police say Santodonato is a substitute physical education teacher in the South Huntington School District. They say their investigation did not reveal any physical contact between Santodonato and students.
A telephone call seeking comment from the South Huntington School District went unanswered.
