More than 200 teens and preteens in 29 teams representing 19 Buffalo & Erie County Public Library branches will compete in the 15th annual Battle of the Books at 11:30 a.m. Aug. 3 in the Erie Community College South Campus gym in Orchard Park.

The teams, made up of youngsters entering sixth through ninth grades in September, will answer trivia questions based on five books each member has read – “Charlie Joe Jackson’s Guide to Not Reading” by Tom Greenwald, “Hero” by Mike Lupica, “Juniper Berry: A Tale of Terror & Temptation” by M.P. Kozlowsky, “Savvy” by Ingrid Law and “The Graveyard Book” by Neil Gaiman.

The competition is free to the public.
