Five Star Bank will close two branches, in Pavilion and North Java, this fall.
Customer accounts and employees of the two branches will be transferred by Oct. 31. All eight employees of the two branches have been offered jobs elsewhere in the branch network, the bank said.
“A continued shift in centers of commerce caused us to carefully consider the long-term viability of our Pavilion and North Java locations,” said Charles Guarino, senior vice president and director of marketing, in a statement.
Pavilion is in Genesee County, and North Java is in Wyoming County.
Five Star will continue to own both properties. It will use the Pavilion site for staff training and an administrative center, and the ATM at that location will remain open to customers. The bank said it is exploring “community-focused options for the North Java site, including the addition of an ATM.”
Five Star is a subsidiary of Warsaw-based Financial Institutions Inc.
