CENTRAL ISLIP, N.Y. (AP) — A Long Island man has been indicted in connection with a DWI accident that killed a pedestrian.
Suffolk County District Attorney says Thomas Vaughan of Lake Grove faces six counts in the March 24 incident. The indictment will be unsealed Thursday.
Vaughan was arrested for driving while intoxicated. Prosecutors say he struck and killed Gary Kroll of Lake Ronkonkoma after leaving a bar in Patchogue. He told police that "someone came out of nowhere into the road" and into the path of his vehicle.
Kroll was pronounced dead at the scene.
Information about Vaughan's attorney wasn't immediately available.
