ULYSSES, N.Y. (AP) State police say two people in a rural town in the Finger Lakes region have been bitten by a fox that may be rabid.

Troopers say the attacks occurred in separate locations Monday in the Tompkins County town of Ulysses, just northwest of Ithaca. Police haven't found the fox yet.

Troopers and the county sheriff's office and health department are investigating the attacks. They're asking anyone who sees a fox acting disorientated or sickly looking to stay away from the animal and contact authorities.
