ENFIELD, N.Y. (AP) — The Tompkins County Sheriff's office says a man is dead and another is in jail after an argument led to a shooting.
The incident happened shortly before 11 p.m. Friday in the town of Enfield, 50 miles southwest of Syracuse. Sheriff Kenneth Lansing says in a statement on his website that 48-year-old Wyatt Cramer was found lying on the ground with a gunshot wound when deputies and state police responded to a report of a shooting.
Cramer later died at a hospital.
Lansing says 50-year-old Thomas Warren got in an argument with Cramer at Warren's house. A firearm went off during the altercation, fatally wounding Cramer.
Warren is charged with second-degree manslaughter. He was jailed on $50,000 bail. The sheriff's office had no information on whether he has a lawyer.
