SCARSDALE, N.Y. (AP) — An upscale Westchester County suburb has declared a water emergency after a pump failure.
Technicians were working Sunday to fix the problem at the main pumping station in Scarsdale. It's about 25 miles north of New York City.
Residents were asked Saturday night to turn off automatic sprinkler systems and refrain from washing cars. A notice on the village's website says hand-watering plants is OK.
Officials don't have a timetable indicating when the repair will be done.
