The Tragically Hip continues its love affair with the Buffalo region, when the revered Canadian quintet brings its “Now For Plan A” tour to the Buffalo Outer Harbor Concert Series (325 Fuhrmann Blvd.) at 7 p.m. Friday. Not that the Hip needs help selling tickets in our neck of the woods – recall the band’s 2011 Canalside appearance set an attendance record for that venue – but for Friday’s show, fans will receive the added bonus of an opening set from Grace Potter & the Nocturnals.

Recent Hip set lists reveal a band in the fortunate position of having more than two decades worth of prime material to choose from, in addition to a vibrant and forward-looking new album. So new tunes like the mini-epic “At Transformation” and the beautifully strange “Man Machine Poem” can share space with such revered evergreen pieces as “Grace, Too,” “Bobcaygeon,” “My Music @ Work” and “Blow at High Dough,” in the process surely pleasing the hardcore T-Hip aficionado.
