CENTRAL ISLIP, N.Y. (AP) — Authorities say a Long Island truck driver has been indicted in connection with an April crash that killed a 71-year-old woman.
Suffolk County District Attorney Thomas Spota says 23-year-old Justin Klein of Medford was arrested on charges of driving while impaired and possession of a controlled substance — heroin.
A judge is expected to unseal the indictment on Wednesday in Central Islip (EYE'-slihp).
The DA says Klein ran a light East Patchogue (PACH'-awg) and broadsided a car by a local resident, Camille Ricciardo. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Information on Klein's attorney was not immediately available.
