Two more University at Buffalo football players have been named to national award watch lists.
Senior corner Najja Johnson was named to the Jim Thorpe Award watch list Friday and senior wide receiver Alex Neutz (Grand Island) was named to the Biletnikoff Award watch list Tuesday.
The Jim Thorpe Award recognizes the country’s best defensive back. Johnson led the Mid-American Conference with five interceptions last year and added 11 pass break-ups and 43 tackles.
The Biletnikoff Award goes to the nation’s top receiver. Neutz had a breakout junior season, totaling 65 catches, 1,015 yards and 11 touchdowns.
UB teammates Branden Oliver and Khalil Mack have also made watch lists.
