Forest Lawn Heritage Foundation has received a $25,000 grant from the Community Foundation for Greater Buffalo to purchase 250 bare root trees for planting in the historic cemetery.

The trees are part of an effort by the cemetery operator to restore the historic tree canopy after losses over the years to disease and weather events, including the devastating storm of October 2006.

Forest Lawn’s long-range landscape renewal plan calls for the planting of nearly 4,000 trees over the next several years.
