Two fires early Sunday on Buffalo’s East Side heavily damaged two homes.

When Engine Co. 31 arrived, the front of the home was fully engulfed, with the flames spreading inside to the first and second floors.
No injuries were reported and the fire’s cause is under investigation. An additional $500 in damage was caused to the home at 51 Leslie St. due to exposure to the nearby fire.
A second fire, which was called in at 5:28 a.m. Sunday, caused $35,000 in damage to a vacant home at 20 Montgomery St. The fire began in the rear first floor and spread to the second floor and attic.
