95th state gathering this week offers hefty economic impact
NIAGARA FALLS – More than 2,000 visitors are expected here as the American Legion Department of New York holds its 95th annual conference Wednesday through Saturday in the Conference & Events Center, the Niagara Tourism & Convention Corp. reports.
Mayor Paul A. Dyster will welcome delegates during the opening assembly at 9 a.m. Thursday. A parade will be held at 6:30 p.m. Friday on Rainbow Boulevard and Old Falls Street, featuring the award-winning American Legion Band of the Tonawandas and the Rensselaer Yankee Doodle Band.
Officials estimate the economic impact at $1.152 million.
