A Dollar General store proposed for South Main Street in Holland has been referred to the Holland Town Planning Board.

David Pawlik, owner of Creative Structures Services, said at a Town Board meeting Wednesday that his construction company is currently building five other new stores in Western New York.

The Holland store would add eight to nine new jobs as well as contribute to the local tax base, he said.

When complete, the building will measure 9,100 square feet with 30 parking spaces. Estimated construction time is 19 weeks, but Pawlik said the project might not be completed until next year.

Board member Karen Kline said the proposed store would be a welcome addition to the town.

Supervisor Michael Kasprzyk asked that the construction company be conscious of the single-family homes located on either side of the proposed building site.
