The house at 113 Buffalo St. in Hamburg will be used for training by Hamburg volunteer firefighters starting at 2 p.m. this afternoon.

The house is adjacent to the Village Veterinary Clinic, and is slated for demolition to allow for the expansion of the clinic.

The owners of the house, Dr. Andrew and Laura Reyda, said in a statement: “Having local firefighters train in the house and gather the experience necessary to fight future structure fires would be an appropriate and constructive last use for the aged building.”

The new veterinary hospital, which is to open next summer, is to offer medical and surgical care, 24-hour emergency care, boarding for dogs and cats, doggy day care, and other therapeutic techniques.
