LOCKPORT – New York State Electric & Gas Corp. announced Thursday that the workers in its Lockport Division have again achieved 500 consecutive days without an accident that needed to be reported to the federal government.
The 48 workers passed the milestone last Friday. The Lockport Division had 514 accident-free days before its last reportable accident Feb. 18, 2012.
Accidents must be reported to the Occupational Safety and Health Administration if they cause lost work time or require medical treatment beyond first aid.
“We are especially proud of our safety record because of the potential hazards that many of our front line employees deal with every day,” NYSEG President Mark S. Lynch said.
