FORT ANN, N.Y. (AP) State police say a 47-year-old man has died after his motorcycle crashed on a rural road in eastern New York.

Troopers tell The Post-Star of Glens Falls (http://bit.ly/1agipwF ) that Gary Maille (MAY'-lee) of Bolton was part of a group of motorcyclists traveling late Thursday night in the Washington County town of Fort Ann, 55 miles northeast of Albany.

Police say Maille veered off the road for an unknown reason and hit a tree. He later was pronounced dead at Glens Falls Hospital.

Troopers say no other bikers were involved and no one else was injured.

Police say excessive speed didn't seem to be a factor.
