ELLERY, N.Y. (AP) — A 14-year-old western New York girl has been accused of setting a fire that destroyed a house and injured a firefighter.
The Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office says the teen is charged with arson. Her name's being withheld because of her age.
Authorities say the girl started the fire inside the town of Ellery home around 8:30 p.m. Tuesday. The residents were able to get out unharmed, but a firefighter suffered a minor head injury.
The house was a total loss.
The sheriff's office didn't say if the girl lived at the address or release a possible motive.
