PAGE TURNERS – Dog Ears Bookstore, 688 Abbott Road, wants to expand these vacation days for high school students with its summer reading program, designed to sharpen skills in critical reading and analysis. Discussions will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Mondays, beginning next week, when the topic will be “To Kill a Mockingbird,” by Harper Lee.

Students don’t need to have read the novel under discussion, since the program also is intended to provide motivation. In addition, students are welcome to bring questions regarding other books they are reading.

The schedule also includes “The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time,” by Mark Haddon, on July 29 and “Slaughterhouse V,” by Kurt Vonnegut, on Aug. 12. A fourth session is planned Aug. 26, with a book to be determined. For info, call Tom McDonnell at 823-2665.
