STERLING, N.Y. (AP) State police say nine people are recovering from minor injuries suffered in a two-car crash on a rural central New York road.

Troopers tell the Post-Standard of Syracuse (http://bit.ly/12YcYAj ) that the accident occurred late Tuesday afternoon in the Cayuga County town of Sterling, on Lake Ontario 32 miles northwest of Syracuse.

Troopers say a Volkswagen Jetta and a Buick Century collided on Route 3.

Multiple emergency crews responded to the scene and treated nine people for minor injuries.

The cause of the crash is being investigated.
