LEWISTON – The Lewiston Historical Association will celebrate its 40th birthday from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday ► July 14 ◄ on the lawn of the Lewiston Museum, 469 Plain St., with dignitaries, old-fashioned family activities and a cake.

The ceremonial cake-cutting will take place at 2 p.m. with village and town officials and museum officers, past and present. It’s free and open to the public.

The afternoon also will feature “Historical Happenings,” with activities and vintage games for children, an antique and bake sale, an old-fashioned photo booth, traditional craft demonstrations and re-enactors dressed in period costumes.
