The Erie County Citizens Budget Review Commission will meet at 3 p.m. Wednesday in the Legislature Chambers on the fourth floor of Old County Hall, 92 Franklin St.
The commission will discuss the upcoming midyear budget hearings, which kick off July 16. The members also will elect officers. Also on the agenda, Deputy County Budget Director Timothy Callen will address a recently completed independent audit of the county’s finances and the May budget monitoring report.
The Legislature created the citizens commission in 2006 after the county’s fiscal meltdown of a few years earlier. The commission’s members are Willie A. Price, Gregory B. Olma, Edward F. Kumrow, Joseph F. Winter, Michael J. Otto, Scott Bylewski, Michael McFarlane, Thomas Earl Webb Jr., Laythanette Shine and Jennifer Diagostino. The Erie County comptroller, Erie County attorney and Erie County director of budget and management are ex-officio members of the commission, which currently has one vacancy.
The meeting is open to the public.
