The Western New York Flash women’s soccer team saw its nine-game unbeaten streak come to an end following a 1-0 loss to the Chicago Red Stars. A crowd of 2,064 looked on at the Benedictine Sports Complex in Lisle, Ill. as the Flash fell for the first time since April 27.

The game was the opener of a four-game road trip. The Flash’s next start is Sunday at Kansas City at 4:10 p.m.

The Red Stars’ Lori Chalupny scored the winning goal, her fourth of the season, in the 58th minute, while goalkeeper Erin McLeod earned her second shutout.
