The coolers are cooling. The lawn chairs are gathering. The saxophones are warming up. Duke Ellington is in the air. It can mean only one thing: The Buffalo-News sponsored Jazz at the Albright-Knox, 2013 edition, is about to begin.

The first concert takes place Sunday and features singer Cindy Miller. Miller, a graduate of the Eastman School of Music, has proven herself a popular draw not only for Jazz at the Albright-Knox audiences, but at the Lewiston Jazz Festival as well. She will be performing with drummer Danny Hull and friends.

The concert takes place at 2 p.m. Sunday on the gallery’s Delaware Stairs overlooking Hoyt Lake. A rain date on Aug. 11 has been set aside in case of inclement weather. Admission is free.
