NORTH TONAWANDA – Malcolm A. Needler, an area politician for over 20 years, is in stable, but guarded condition after suffering a heart attack over the weekend.

Needler, age 62, was a longtime Niagara County Legislator, R-11th district, and retired from the Niagara County Legislature in 2007. He entered back into politics in the City of North Tonawanda and was sworn in to a seat on the Common Council as Alderman At Large in 2012.

Alderman Needler was at Buffalo General Hospital Monday where he is undergoing treatment.

Any North Tonawanda residents that have issues which require immediate attention are asked to contact Mayor Robert Ortt at 695-8540.

The City of North Tonawanda and Needler family said they would make updates as they become available.
