Venters, who was released to his mother, was charged with driving while intoxicated, failure to obey a traffic device, moving from a lane unsafely, operating a motor vehicle while using a cellphone and having an open container of beer in his car. Telling police he felt “buzzed,” Venters has a July 9 court date.

He was also charged with making an illegal U-turn, driving the wrong way on a one-way street, having an uninspected motor vehicle and having no front license plate. He was released on bail and has a July 16 court date.
