Nulife Glass, a Manchester, England-based recycling specialist, will be opening its first U.S. facility in Chautauqua County. The company is investing $3.7 million to renovate a 50,000-square-foot plant in the Town of Sheridan and plans to create 25 jobs.

Buffalo Niagara Enterprise helped attract Nulife to the area and announced the new development.

Nulife’s technology extracts toxic lead from cathode ray tubes, which have become mostly obsolete because of changes in computer and television screen technology. The extracted lead is sold to metal markets and the remaining glass is sold for use in other products.

The new location is already accepting cathode ray tube glass and will have the capacity to receive 100 million pounds of it. The company anticipates its new facility will be fully operating within the next 12 months.
