Calls for work
CEPA Gallery is accepting submissions for the new annual purchase prize on behalf of Roswell Park Cancer Institute. The selected work will become part of the permanent collection of Roswell Park Cancer Institute and be prominently displayed in a public area of the hospital alongside the work of many of this region’s notable artists. Photographers residing within 100 miles of Buffalo or those living outside the area who have strong ties to the region may submit works. Artists should submit up to three photographic works of art, along with image information, an artist resume and a biography by email to firstname.lastname@example.org with Oseroff Memorial Purchase Prize in the subject line. Images should be in jpeg format and be no larger than 1MB each. Label each image with artist’s last name and number them 1 - 3. For each submitted image, include title of work, date produced, medium, size and retail price. The deadline for submission is 5 p.m. July 5. For more information, visit www.cepagallery.org.
Artsphere Studio & Gallery is seeking artists to submit work for the ninth annual “Garden Mystique” botanical-themed group art exhibition celebrating garden walks in Buffalo’s neighborhoods, which opens July 26. The Richmond Memorial Library (19 Ross St., Batavia) is presenting the “Mine” poetry contest for adults in the Summer Reading Club. Entries should be copies from a book, magazine or newspaper with words eliminated in an artistic manner to create a poem. Submissions are due by 5 p.m. July 19.
