NIAGARA FALLS – A man described as mentally impaired was forcibly arrested last week in the Niagara Falls City Courthouse after swearing and threatening the judge and police, and refusing to follow orders during his arraignment, police said.

Police released an arrest report Monday of the June 17 arrest of Christopher L. Ford, 32, of 19th Street.

According to officers, Ford was using obscenities in the courtroom and was escorted out. He was called “unpredictable and aggressive.” He allegedly tried to strike an officer as he was being led to the elevator in handcuffs and chains.

Officer David Wylucki said he took Ford to the floor and held him until forcing him to walk to a cell. No injuries were reported to Ford or officers.

Ford later apologized saying he was angry because he was accused of robbing his grandmother.
