Patricia A. Lukaszewski, of Marilla, a longtime docent at the Burchfield Penney Art Center, died Saturday in Beechwood Continuing Care, Getzville. She was 81.
The former Patricia Lukowski was a graduate of Depew High School and earned a bachelor’s degree in anthropology from Buffalo State College.
Her strong love of nature, gardening, literature and art history informed her 20-year tenure as a docent for the art center. With her extensive knowledge of the permanent collection, she led tours of the collection and exhibitions, specializing in children’s school tours.
Using her ability to engage children, Mrs. Lukaszewski shared her expertise to educate hundreds of children about the arts.
She was very involved in St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Alden, where she was a member of the Bishop’s Committee and the Catholic Bible Studies Group.
Mrs. Lukaszewski was a longtime member of the Dickens Fellowship of Buffalo and enjoyed the book club at the Lancaster Library.
Survivors include a son, Timothy J. Lucas; two daughters, Sandra Kubik and Judith Lucas; and a sister, Jean Robbins.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11:30 a.m. today in St. John the Baptist Church, Sandridge Road, Alden.
