No need to modernize the teachings of Christ
A letter writer criticized Bishop Richard Malone’s letter to all parishioners in the Catholic Diocese of Buffalo. It is so frequently stated that we, as Catholics, should move into the 21st century. It is always implied that everything that was believed from the time of Jesus Christ should be modernized.
I find it so true that when people make such a statement, they do not have the total understanding of the church. With a little education regarding the Catholic faith, they would better understand and perhaps embrace the Catholic faith.
As far as her statement regarding equal rights for women, the church believes in women’s rights. But I ask: What about the rights of the baby? Abortion is so many times the result of an unplanned pregnancy and the baby is looked on as an inconvenience. What about the rights of the baby?
