OLAF FUB SEZ: According to writer and critic Ambrose Bierce, born on this date in 1842, “There is nothing new under the sun, but there are lots of old things we don’t know.”
Freshly cut grass relaxes
In the five o’clock sun.
Planted hanging baskets sigh,
“Where’d the day go?”
Bees who never ask
In a hollow knot hum
Beside me in a silver maple,
Shimming branches a century old.’’
