The Sargent and Collins, LLP Women’s $10,000 Championships is entering the final stretch and top-seeded Sachie Ishizu of Japan is still in the hunt thanks to a comeback.

Ishizu rallied from 5-2 down in the third set to earn a 7-6 (9), 3-6, 7-5 win over unseeded Canadian Sonja Molnar on Friday.

She will face Alexandra Mueller at 11 a.m. today in the semifinals at Miller Tennis Center. Mueller, the sixth seed, advanced with a straight set win over Jillian O’Neill of Canada, 6-4, 6-4.

The other singles semifinal will pit No. 4 Sherazad Benamar of France against Russia’s Alisa Kleybanova. Benamar advanced with a 6-2, 4-6, 6-2 win over Caitlin Whoriskey, a University of Tennessee graduate. Kleybanova rolled against No. 2 seed Jessica Moore of Australia, 6-4, 6-2.

The double final will conclude today’s action and begin at the earliest 2 p.m. Emily Harman and Mueller of the United States defeated Julia Moriarty of Austrailia and Whoriskey, 6-3, 6-2. They will face Ishizu and Denise Starr, who routed the American team of Stephanie Kent and Ashley Murdock 6-0, 6-1.
