Motorists should be aware of a new traffic pattern on Delaware Avenue approaching downtown, city officials said Thursday.

Delaware Avenue between North Street and Niagara Square will have just one lane of vehicular traffic in each direction, instead of two, while multiple turning lanes, bike lanes and high-visibility cross walks have been added. The roadway has just been paved and new striping is expected to be completed by the weekend. The project cost $300,000 and was paid for with money the city borrowed for major projects.
