Margaret Ann George, who taught for 20 years in the West Seneca School District, died Sunday in her Lackawanna home. She was 80.
Known as “Peggy,” she was born Margaret DePasquale in Buffalo.
Mrs. George was in her 30s and a mother, raising four children, when she began her undergraduate college studies. She earned a master’s degree in education from Buffalo State College.
Mrs. George taught – primarily first grade – in the West Seneca School District.
Her hobbies and interests were centered around her family. She was beloved by her students at East Elementary School, and her colleagues held her in the same regard as her family.
Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Chris; two daughters, Ellen Kaney and Nancy Molnar; two sons, Joseph M. and Christopher P.; and a sister, Nancy Johnson.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 9:15 a.m. today in Our Lady of Victory Basilica, Ridge Road and South Park Avenue, Lackawanna.
