The National Wildlife Federation will stage its Great American Backyard Campout on Saturday.
A part of the federation’s “Be Out There” movement, the ninth annual campout offers an opportunity to head outside for some great food and family fun this summer.
The program features cookout recipes, campfire songs, games and wildlife watching tips useful for outings throughout the summer.

The free “Great Lakes Seaway Trail Travel Magazine,” is now available with tips for exploring New York and Pennsylvania sections of this National Scenic Byway. The magazine features driving and boating routes that span five distinct areas along the coastline: the Erie Bayfront and Presque Isle in Pennsylvania, the WNY/Lake Erie metropolitan hub of Buffalo-Niagara Falls, and the expansive Lake Ontario shoreline.

Niagara Expo planned
The First Greater Niagara Fishing and Outdoor Expo will be held at the Conference and Event Center in Niagara Falls on January 24-26, 2014. Rally draws crowd
The Second Amendment Rights Rally in Albany on Tuesday brought together affiliates of county sportsmen’s federations, SCOPE (Shooters Committee on Political Education) members and gun-rights advocates statewide. SCOPE President Stephen Aldstadt was impressed with the speakers and put attendance at about 2,500 or more that day.

Crossbow bill passes
