Letter writer should know seniors pay tax on pensions

I read the June 2 letter criticizing senior citizens for flocking to expensive patio homes and condominiums so they will pay lower taxes. As an educator, he should realize that most of the seniors pay New York State income tax on their pensions. They also pay for their own health care. If all state government employees paid income tax on their pension funds, maybe there would be enough money for schools and there would not be a problem in Clarence.
