PAWTUCKET, R.I. — Ricky Romero is still looking for his first win as a Buffalo Bison.

And the wait lasted another day.

The Buffalo Bisons’ game against the Red Sox in Pawtucket was rained out on Thursday.

The teams will play a doubleheader beginning tonight (5:35 p.m., Radio 1520). Both will be scheduled seven-inning games.

Romero is 0-1 with five no-decisions for the Herd. His last outing was in Coca-Cola Field on Friday when he gave up three runs in 5∏ innings in a no-decision against the Lehigh Valley IronPigs.

Justin Germano (4-5, 6.43 ERA) is scheduled to start the second game for the Herd.

Earlier on Thursday, infielder Andy LaRoche cleared waivers and was outrighted to the Bisons. In 49 games with the Herd, he batted .282 and drove in 32 runs.

He played in one game with Toronto on June 9, his first Major League appearance since 2011. He went 0 for 4 with a strikeout.

The return of LaRoche means that Jim Negrych will likely return to second base. He was slated to start at second in Thursday’s lineup after starting six straight games at third base, his first infield starts at a position other than second all season.

The four-game series with Pawtucket is scheduled to continue on Saturday and Sunday.

The Bisons return home Monday and host Gwinnett, opening an eight-game homestand.
