JPMorgan Chase is holding an “internal” job fair today for employees of its Albion call center, to allow them to apply for 150 job openings that JPMorgan Chase has in Rochester, Sen. Charles Schumer’s office announced.
The Albion call center, which employs 413, is set to close Sept. 2. Only a small number – perhaps a dozen – of the employees will be retained to continue performing the same work they are doing now, at a different location.
The Albion center employees work with customers who are in distress with their mortgages.
Schumer’s office said that before the end of this month, JPMorgan Chase plans to hold an “external” job fair for the Albion center employees. Among the expected participants is Claims Recovery Financial Services, which employs 550 people at two locations in Orleans County and is hiring to fill open positions.
