JAMESTOWN – A 31-year-old Erie, Pa., man was arrested after a high- speed chase and the crash of his car in front of the BOCES facility on County Route 43 in the Town of North Harmony at about 1 p.m. Tuesday.
State police began a chase after a State Police radar unit on I-86 eastbound in North Harmony clocked the car of Willie Brown at speeds of almost 100 mph.
When Brown got off at Exit 8 and continued on Route 394 toward Lakewood, he lost control of his car at the intersection with Route 43 and crashed in a field north of the BOCES center. The car was heavily damaged, but Brown was not hurt. He was charged with speeding, failing to stop at stop signs, reckless driving, failing to keep right, failing to comply with lawful orders of law enforcement, improper passing and passing on the right. He was also charged with fleeing an officer in a vehicle and unlawful possession of marijuana. He faces further proceedings in North Harmony Town Court later this month.
