With the demands involved in meeting the new state-required teacher assessments, the Maryvale School Board agreed Monday to add a new position in the district staff with a salary in the low $70,000s. The person serving in the position will be responsible for supervising the new student and teacher assessments that are required by the state. The manager will also supervise the district’s curriculum.

“With all the initiatives, there’s been a tremendous onslaught of new responsibilities,” said Assistant Superintendent James Maloney.
