WILSON – An elderly Lake Street woman has been victimized by credit card fraud twice within the past week, sheriff’s deputies said, but police may have a strong lead in the case.
The woman learned Thursday that someone had used her information to make a fraudulent purchase online.
Upon checking her credit card records, she also found an unauthorized purchase from oldnavy.com, which police were able to trace to a woman in Columbus, Ohio.
In all, about $335 worth of fraudulent purchases were made on the victim’s credit card. An investigation into the incidents is continuing.
