Four children and four adults are receiving temporary housing from the Red Cross after a fire damaged their Marilla Street home in South Buffalo early this morning, authorities said.
The blaze, in a 2½-story frame house at 423 Marilla St., started at about 12:50 a.m., and the cause remains under investigation, fire officials said.
The fire, which started on the first floor and spread to the second floor, left an estimated $40,000 damage, authorities said. The Marilla Street home is just west of South Park Avenue, about halfway between Tifft Street and Ridge Road.
No injuries were reported.
