CUSSEWAGO TOWNSHIP, Pa. – The death of a 28-year-old man from Amherst, N.Y., in a one-car crash Saturday afternoon on Interstate 79 in this Crawford County township south of Erie, Pa., was confirmed Monday by the Pennslyvania State Police.

The victim and lone occupant of the car that crashed at Milepost 159.8 northbound at 4:04 p.m. Saturday was identified as Brian Kling. Kling was reported traveling at a high rate of speed just before he began to move along the west side of the road, struck some rocks with his car becoming airborne and crashing into a tree.

Kling, who was wearing a seat belt, was pronounced dead at the scene by Deputy Crawford County Coroner Daniel Bresee. The driver’s side of the Kling car was heavily damaged and the left lane of that section of the I-79 was closed for about two hours after the incident.
