Amer Abdallah puts his World Kickboxing Association United States light heavyweight championship on the line tonight when he faces Robert Katzfey in the main event of “Road to Glory” card at Kenan Arena in Lockport.

The 10-fight card, which begins at 7 p.m., will feature a good number of up-and-coming kickboxers from the area. The main event, which is expected to begin around 9:30 p.m, has the 15-0 Abdallah facing a foe who has more fighting experience in Muay Thai fighting (stand up striking along with clenching techniques) than full-contact kickboxing (all kicks and punches above the waist). Katzfey of Milwaukee is 3-3 in kickboxing and 10-2 in Muay Thai events.

This will be the first time Abdallah has fought with Team Mesi officially in his corner. The Mesis in the past have worked with him off and on.

“It’s not exactly boxing but it’s close enough,” said Jack Mesi last month of getting involved with kickboxing and Abdallah. Abdallah’s “heart is in it. ... He’s got this opportunity but he needs to build on his abilities to fight at the next level.”

There will be some general admission tickets available at the door. Cost is $25.

Abdallah has sold out four of his last five fights in his Lockport hometown.

Others expected to be on the card incxlude Dan Dorfman (Buffalo), Anthony Norton (Hamburg), Steve Horton (Buffalo), Joe Taylor (Lockport), Dominic Esposito (Lockport), Erin Morris (Tonawanda) and Brian Irr (Lockport);
