Return of oldies spurs trip down memory lane
Strolling down the first fairway at Sheridan Park the other day, one of our senior members asked if I listened to the oldies. “They’re back on WECK 1230,” he informed me, and what a treat the past week has been.
First, Tom Donahue and then, a week with Jerry Reo. They played songs from my salad days – voices still dulcet and filled with pleasant recollections of ’57 Chevys and Pat’s Hot Dog Stand. For three salubrious hours I was transported by the voices and songs of my youth to memories dear. Where are they now, those voices of yesteryear? Perhaps an enterprising newsperson might dare to share the golden days of Buffalo radio.
