The Western New York Land Conservancy will conduct its annual membership meeting and reception from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at the main house on the grounds of Knox Farm State Park in East Aurora. New board members will be elected, and Jessica Owley from the University at Buffalo Law School will present “Land Conservation in a Changing World.”
The event also is an opportunity to review accomplishments of the past year. The finale of the evening will be a special owl prowl bird hike in the park with local owl expert, Chuck Rosenburg.
The Land Conservancy has preserved and protected more than 5,000 acres of land in its 22 year history. The land conservancy is a regional, not-for-profit land trust that permanently protects land with significant conservation value in Western New York for future generations.

• The Boston Town Board will review its agenda at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, and will conduct a regular meeting at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in Town Hall, 8500 Boston State Road.
• The Boston Zoning Board of Appeals will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday in Town Hall.
• The American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Elma and Surrounding Communities will be held on Flag Day, June 14 at 5 p.m. to midnight
• The Town of Wales is considering a new street light request from East Aurora for Reiter Road and Route 20A. which is on the border of the two towns.
The town will forward a request from an E. Blood Road resident for a speed study to the State Department of Transportation.
