The University at Buffalo fired softball coach Jennifer Teague on Thursday after failing to record a winning season in five years at the school.
Teague, who was hired in July 2007, finished with an overall record of 88-159. Her best season was her first in 2008 when the Bulls were 25-27. UB was 16-32 overall and 6-14 in the Mid-American Conference this past season.
Athletic Director Danny White said a national search will begin immediately.
“This was a very tough decision and we appreciate all that coach Teague has done for our student-athletes and the softball program,” White said. “After a complete evaluation, we decided it was time to move in a new direction as we did not feel we were progressing toward our goal of winning Mid-American Conference championships and competing in postseason.”
